Something happened on my way to adulthood. It was surprising and rather shattering to me. I am a Baby Boomer; one of those children born after World War II. There were quite a lot of us, too. I guess it stands to reason that the birth rate increased dramatically after the ending of the war. Because of this, I had a childhood filled with neighborhood kids to play with, lots of sleepovers and groups of us riding our bikes to school. There was always cereal for breakfast, too.
