These last few weeks have been tough.  We have watched our country get hit with hurricanes, flood waters, threats of war, and our own personal issues we all have.  Life has shown us that we need to stand together and help each other and I think we are finding how very giving our neighbors can be.  I am always humbled by the kindness of others and the sacrifices people make for others, for animals, for people’s belongings.  It is during times of great tragedy, I also see the most hope from people.  I also get overwhelmed as well.

Stress has all kinds of devasting effects on our bodies.  Left unchecked, stress can cause high blood pressure, heart issues, headaches, problems sleeping, and the list can go on and on.  Quite simply, stress over a long period of time is not good for you.  Finding ways to manage your stress, especially when it seems to be hitting from many areas all at once, is important both mentally and physically.  You have to take care of yourself and you have to give yourself permission to slow down and do things for you.

One way to do this is through the use of essential oils.  I have found several wonderful recipes for destressing to help you relax.  I’ve tried a few and here are three of my favorite:

The first one is from One Essential Community.  It is called

“Happy Place” uplifting diffuser blend

Add all to your diffuser, sit back, relax and enjoy!  I love this one.  It relaxes, yet seems to energize me.  Maybe that is why it is called “Happy Place.”  This next one, from Recipes with Essential Oils, is great for creating a sense of calm and warmth in your home.  It is called:

Decompression Diffuser Blend

  • 2 drops Frankincense essential oil
  • 1 drop Pine essential oil
  • 1 drop Cedarwood essential oil

Add to your diffuser and enjoy!  This one is especially great on a rainy day, in my opinion!  I love the fresh smell of pine with anything!

Relaxing Blend

This was shared by EarthAroma.com and how can you go wrong with lavender?

If you have other favorites for relaxation and stress, please feel free to share.  We have to take care of each other.  We know that essential oils have aromatic, fragrant molecules that can actually pass right through the blood/brain barrier, having a direct effect on the areas of our brain in charge of controlling feelings of stress and anxiety and even panic and depression.  Let’s use essential oils to our advantage and share what helps us with each other.

Take care, Friend, and enjoy!
