Sinfully Scented: Chocolate Essential Oil Blends

Valentine’s Day is basically around the corner and I’m sure we’re all looking forward to that special, romantic day. Set the mood on Sunday with these sinfully scented chocolate-based essential oil blends - don’t forget the mood lighting and rose petals.

Straight up cacao

Cacao essential oil, also known as cacao absolute, is extracted from the same tree that makes chocolate. The chocolatey aroma that will fill your room is a known aphrodisiac; diffuse it, add it to your massage oil, drop it in your bath water - however you choose to incorporate it into your weekend, just remember to enjoy.

A hint of vanilla

Chocolate and vanilla are like the yin yang of essential oils - they complement each other perfectly and, when combined, provide a powerful punch. Vanilla helps soothe stress and anxiety, and enhances libido; combined with chocolates mouthwatering scent, this blend will relax, destress and make you crave delicious baked goods (among other things).

Massage oil:

For every 1 ounce of carrier oil, add 4 drops of vanilla and 1 drop of cacao.

Diffuser blend:

In a small bottle, combine 40 drops of cacao and 10 drops of vanilla. Mix well and add to your diffuser as instructed.

A rose by any other name

Roses and chocolate are Valentine’s Day staples. This blend combines them in a very different way - one that stimulates the senses and gives you the ultimate romantic aromas.

Massage oil:

For every 4 ounces of coconut oil, add 13 drops of cacao oil, 3 drops of rose oil and 3 drops of vanilla oil. Combine and use to massage out those sore muscles.

Diffuser blend:

In a small bottle, mix together 25 drops of cacao and 25 drops of rose. Add to diffuser as instructed.
